CLIENT OVERVIEW
Nailzbyamz is a boutique nail salon based in Melbourne, owned and operated by a self-employed business owner passionate about nail artistry.
The salon’s services focus on creating unique, customized nail designs, offering a personal and creative touch for each client.
This artist approached me with the goal of creating a bold and memorable brand identity that would reflect her artistic vision and resonate with her target audience.
PROJECT SCOPE
The goal was to design a logo and branding package that encapsulated the salon’s personality.
Amz’s aesthetic was rooted in Y2K nostalgia with a modern twist—fun, chrome, and edgy.
Together, we crafted a brand identity that is striking and cohesive, elevating her business to attract her ideal clientele.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The theme of the branding was inspired by the playful and futuristic vibe of the early 2000s. We aimed for a look that was nostalgic yet fresh, ensuring it felt relevant and trendy for today’s audience. Key design elements included:

LOGO
A custom drippy text logo rendered in 3D, evoking a sense of fluidity and fun while maintaining a polished finish. The dripping effect added an edgy, unconventional flair that matched the Y2K aesthetic.

COLOUR PALETTE
A minimalist combination of black, white, and chrome was chosen to emphasize a sleek and sophisticated vibe. The monochromatic tones, paired with the reflective chrome accents, created a striking contrast that enhanced the overall design’s impact.
DESIGN PROCESS
We collaborated closely through multiple iterations, refining details like the drip texture, typography, and details to achieve the final look.
The design process began with thorough research and exploration of Y2K-inspired aesthetics and typography.
Once we finalized the base flat 2D design, we transitioned into the 3D phase. Here, I conducted render tests to push the design further, experimenting with lighting setups, reflections, and color variations to achieve the perfect balance of depth and shine.
This phase was crucial in bringing the logo’s chrome and drippy elements to life, ensuring the final result was both dynamic and visually striking.
